Panthers Knock Off Penguins, 1-0
Milwaukee, Wis. --
UW-Milwaukee's Evann Franklin scored
the game-winning goal in the 74th
minute of play as the Panthers
defeated the Youngstown State soccer
team, 1-0, and clinched the regular
season Horizon League championship
title on a cold Sunday afternoon at
Engelmann Field.
Franklin scored from seven yards out off a long feed from
Sommer Rouse and Ginny Graczyk.
The Panthers outshot the Penguins,
21-3 and outcornered YSU, 10-1.
With the loss the Penguins fall to
1-15 overall and 0-5 in the Horizon
League. UW-Milwaukee improves
to 8-7-1 and 5-1 in the league.
Youngstown State returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 20, to
play their final home game against
Loyola. |
