YSU Outlasted by UW-Green Bay, 2-0
Youngstown --
UW-Green Bay (3-6-2, 1-1-1 Horizon)
used two second-half goals to defeat
the Youngstown State soccer team
(0-11-1, 0-4 Horizon) on Sunday
afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.
The contest was scoreless until the 55th minute when Leah
Larson scored off a pass from Jennie
Gorwitz. The Phoenix secured
the victory in the 86th minute when
Stephanie Gross scored from 5 yards
out.
The Phoenix outshot the Penguins 19-9 and the teams were even
on corner kicks with three each.
YSU keeper Mia Railing recorded eight saves for YSU.
Sophomore Katie Duracky led the
Penguins with five shots.
The Penguins are next in action on Friday when they travel to
Indianapolis for a league match with
Butler at 3 p.m. |
