Penguins Suffer 3-0 Defeat to Villanova

Villanova scored three goals in the first half en route to a 3-0 victory over the Youngstown State soccer team on Friday night at Stambaugh Stadium.
    The Wildcats got on the scoreboard in the 17th minute when Kelly Breslin connected off a corner kick form Laura Johnson.  Jamie Weist added the Wildcats second goal of the game when she fired a shot that hit the post and fell in to give Villanova a 2-0 lead. Nikki Mabery closed out the scoring two minutes later when she connected on a header inside the box.
    Villanova dominated on offense outshoting YSU 30-1 and outcornering the Penguins 5-0.  Junior keeper Caitlin Bestard recorded 14 saves for the Penguins.
    With the loss, YSU falls to 1-15-1, while Villanova moves to 11-5-1.
    YSU is next in action on Nov. 4 when they travel to Indianapolis for the Horizon League tournament hosted by Butler.
