Loyola Shuts Out Penguins, 6-0
Chicago, Ill.
– Loyola (4-3-1, 1-0 Horizon) scored three goals in
the first half and added three more
in the second half en route to a 6-0
victory over the Youngstown State
soccer team (0-8-1, 0-2 Horizon) on
Sunday afternoon at Loyola Soccer
Park.
The Ramblers took an early lead when Mary Dale headed in a
goal in the 7th minute. Dale
added her second goal of the game
seven minutes later. Next Lindsay
Faron connected with the net to give
the Ramblers a 3-0 lead going into
halftime. In the second half,
Loyola scored goals in the 48th,
66th and 87th minute.
Loyola outshot YSU 22-8 and outcornered the 'Guins 3-0.
Senior keeper Mia Railing recorded
eight saves for YSU.
The Penguins are next in action on Tuesday when they travel
to Dayton to play Wright State at 7
