Penguins Sign Four
to Letters of Intent

Youngstown State Soccer Head Coach
Anthony James announced Monday that
Tessa Brookman (Morgantown, WV),
Britta Snowberger (Enterprise, Pa.),
Casey Taylor (Oakland, MD) and Kara
Vezza (Sewickley, Pa.) have signed
National Letters of Intent to
continue their academic and soccer
careers at Youngstown State.
Brookman, a standout midfielder from Morgantown High School,
was a four-year letterwinner and
received first and second team
all-state honors.
"Tessa is an excellent player and will show leadership as a
freshman," James said. "She is
a very technically sound player."
Snowberger, a forward from Northern Bedford County High
School, was a four-year letterwinner
and holds the school record for
scoring 100 career goals. She was
Bedford's leading scorer three
consecutive years and for her
efforts was named to the Bedford
Gazette All-Star team from
2000-2003. She was also named
Most Valuable Offensive Player in
2002.
"Britta is very strong and she can score a lot of goals,"
said James. "She is a
tremendous student, who is very
gifted and hardworking with or
without the ball and she is expected
to make an immediate impact."
Taylor, was a four-year letterwinner at the midfield position
at Southern Garrett High School.
As a freshman she was the area's
leading scorer and was a first-team
all-area selection.
"The sky is the limit for Casey," said James. "She is
strong on the ball and wants to get
better."
Vezza, a standout forward from Quaker Valley High School, was
a four-year letterwinner and team
captain one year. She received
all-section, all-state and
All-American honors.
"Kara is a quick and feisty player who is very gifted with
her feet," said James. "She
doesn't hesitate and will score a
lot of goals." |
