Penguins' Soccer Program Receives Team Ethics Award of Merit
Philadelphia, Pa.
--
The Youngstown State women's soccer
team was awarded the Team Ethics
Award of Merit during the
National Coaches Association of
America (NSCAA) convention that was
held recently in Philadelphia.
The ethics committee of the NSCAA presented the
Penguins with the Silver
Certificate, which is awarded to all
collegiate teams receiving fewer
than five yellow cards, but more
than one, during the season.
Youngstown State had a
Horizon-League low four yellow cards
in 20 matches for the year.
Head Coach Anthony James said he was honored to receive
the award on behalf of the team.
"We are trying to create a foundation here at YSU where our
student-athletes depend on sound
fundamentals to win games," James
said. "I think this has a lot to do
with the disciplined approach we
take each time we step on the
field." |
