Soccer: Youngstown State Shuts Out Butler 2-0
Youngstown -- Sophomore Brittny
Humphrey tied her career high with
two goals to lead the Youngstown
State soccer team (1-13-0
overall, 1-2 Horizon League)
to a 2-0 victory over Butler (4-6-2,
0-2) on Saturday afternoon at
Stambaugh Stadium.
Humphrey ignited YSU's offense with a goal from five yards
out at the 38:51 mark off assists
from forward Sade Tate and
midfielder Carrie Wack.
Humphrey kept the momentum rolling in the Penguins' favor
with her second goal of the game at
67:33 off an assist from midfielder
Diane Fellabaum.
Despite Butler taking eight shots on goal, senior Caitlin
Bestard, who made her first start of
the season, shut out the Bulldogs by
making eight saves.
The Penguins look to pick up their second win of the season
when they visit UW-Milwaukee on
Friday, Oct. 14. |
