Soccer: Youngstown State Shuts Out Butler 2-0
Youngstown -- Sophomore Brittny Humphrey tied her career high with two goals to lead the Youngstown State soccer team (
1-13-0 overall, 1-2 Horizon League) to a 2-0 victory over Butler (4-6-2, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.
Humphrey ignited YSU's offense with a goal from five yards out at the 38:51 mark off assists from forward Sade Tate and midfielder Carrie Wack.
Humphrey kept the momentum rolling in the Penguins' favor with her second goal of the game at 67:33 off an assist from midfielder Diane Fellabaum.
Despite Butler taking eight shots on goal, senior Caitlin Bestard, who made her first start of the season, shut out the Bulldogs by making eight saves.
The Penguins look to pick up their second win of the season when they visit UW-Milwaukee on Friday, Oct. 14.
