Titans Knock Penguins Out of Tournament with 4-0
Loss
Green Bay, Wis. --
No. 2 seed Detroit defeated the
Youngstown State soccer team 4-0 in
the first-round of the Horizon
League Championship on Thursday
afternoon at
Santaga Stadium
Detroit's Mary Parker scored the the first goal just 1:05
into
the game. YSU's defense held the Titans until late
in the second half as Parker scored
her second goal of the game. Stacy
Armstrong then added the third point
with her shot from 18 yards out.
Parker came back just four minutes
later with her third goal of contest
at 77:47 making the final score 4-0.
Senior midfielder Diane Fellabaum took the only shot
for YSU.
Detroit outshot Youngstown State 26-1 and outcornered the
Penguins 8-0. Goal keeper Jessica
Yarter recorded six saves for the
Penguins. |
