Soccer: Anthony James Working with
Under-14 Girls National Team Pool
YSU Soccer Coach Anthony James
is currently participating in the
United States Soccer Federation's
Under-14 Girls National Team pool
camp, which is being held in
California this week. The group
began workouts on Sunday, July 30
and is competing through August 5 at
Cal Poly Pomona University in
Pomona, Calif.
As a U.S. staff coach, his responsibilities for this age
group include furthering the
development of young players and
assisting in the identification of
the top players in the country.
Through individual player
development the elite players from
this age group will eventually
compete for U.S. Youth National
Teams and represent the United
States full women's national team as
they advance in their careers.
Coach James also serves as the Head Coach of the U-13 Girls
Olympic Development Program regional
team.
"This is truly an honor for me to work with some of the very
best young players in the country,"
James said. "I see this as an
excellent opportunity to become a
better evaluator and coach as a
State and a Regional head coach. I'm
also very excited to work with some
of the very best youth and college
coaches in the country. This
opportunity will certainly assist me
in becoming a better college coach
as I work and share with them."
