Youngstown State Drops 2-0 Decision At Wright State
Dayton, Ohio --
Wright State opened the game with
two quick goals but the Penguins held the Raiders in the second half for the 2-0
loss. With the loss YSU falls to 2-13, 0-6 in the Horizon League, while Wright
State improves to 11-3-3, 3-2-1.
Stephanie Habner scored the first goal at 9:38 into the
game Jodie Shoaf connected with the net nine minutes later for her third goal of
the season.
Jen Hansen and Nicole Amador both attempted shots for the
Raiders that were saved by Caitlin Bodzioney in the first half.
Christi Williams closed out the first half with the Penguins
first scoring attempted that was saved by Steph Comisar.
Sade Tate made a shot that was saved in the second half and
Alex Lee attempted a shot that was just wide of the net.
Bodzioney finished the game with seven saves.
Head Coach Anthony James said that the team had chances to
tie the game.
"We gave up two goals in the beginning and just couldn't
score in the second half," said James.
YSU will conclude
the regular season against Cleveland State on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
