Milwaukee Out Scores the
Penguins, 2-1
Milwaukee, Wis. -- Youngstown State
goalkeeper Caitlin Bodzioney stopped
15 of the Panthers scoring attempts,
but a late goal by Heather Roadhouse
put Milwaukee up by one score. The
Panthers held YSU for the rest of
the contest to claim the 2-1
victory on Sunday afternoon. With
the win Milwaukee's record
improves to 7-3-3 overall and 3-0-1
in the Horizon League. The Penguins
drop to 1-11-1 and 0-2.
Forward Jordan Gapczynski took the first shot for the
Penguins at just under 10 minutes
into the game. Gapczynski's shot was
high and Milwaukee answered back
four minutes later with its first
score of the afternoon by Kate Megna.
Gapczynski attempted the second shot
for the Guins that was also high.
Lauren Brennan made her way into Panther territory to tie the score
at 1-1 before the half. Carrie Wack
and Natalie Brady each assisted with
Brennan's goal.
Milwaukee's offense took
advantage of shot opportunities in
the second half, but all attempts
were stopped by Bodzioney. Despite
not taking any shots in the second
half, YSU kept the game within one
score until the 74 minute mark.
Roadhouse's goal from 10 yards out sealed the Panthers win
over YSU
The Penguins will return home on Friday to host Horizon
League opponent Cleveland State at 7
