Gapczynski's Goals Lifts Soccer Past Slippery Rock, 2-1
   Slippery Rock, Pa. -- The Youngstown State soccer team opened its spring season on Saturday afternoon in a exhibition tournament hosted by Slippery Rock University. The Penguins drew a scoreless tie against Duquesne and finished with a 1-1 tie against Robert Morris. Forward Jordan Gapczynski helped the team beat Slippery Rock, 2-1, with her two scores. YSU wrapped up the weekend with a record of 1-0-2. Release
Penguins Sign Four Talented Offensive Recruits to 2008 Team
       Youngstown -- Strikers Kara Cooper (Youngstown) and Geneva Strelka (Strongsville, Ohio) and midfielders Kelsey Kempton (Strongsville, Ohio) and Jessica McMurry (Ambridge, Pa.) have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and soccer careers at Youngstown State, Head Coach Anthony James announced today. Wack, Brennan Receive National Recognition for Achievements
     Youngstown -- Junior Carrie Wack was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as one of the East Region Scholar Athletes. Wack, a hospitality management major, maintained a 3.80 GPA throughout the fall semester. Wack was also named to the All-Ohio team by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association for her achievements on the field. Release
Soccer Honored with NSCAA Team Academic Award
  Mission, Kan.--The Youngstown State Soccer team and six other Horizon League teams were honored by the NSCAA for their academic achievements during the season.
  All teams receiving the award maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year with all players on the roster added into the final calculation. Release
Soccer Closes Out Season with Hard-Fought OT Loss to CSU
  Cleveland Ohio -- Freshman Tara Morey put the first goal of the night on the board for Youngstown State after battling with Horizon League foe Cleveland State for 87 minutes without a score. The Vikings answered back just minutes later tie the game before the end of regulation and won the game in overtime. Release | Stats
