Softball Shutout Twice By Canisius
Canfield,
Ohio -- The Youngstown State
softball team fell to 8-29 after
being shutout twice by Canisius
(28-11), 8-0, 3-0, on Tuesday
afternoon at McCune Park.
Sophomore Cheryl
Cale turned in another solid outing
in the circle during game two
scattering six hits and striking out
three.
However,
Canisius' Lindsay Morris picked up
her ninth win of the season after
giving up just four hits in five
innings. Mallory Aldred tossed two
innings of scoreless relief to pick
up her 11th save.
The Guins
threaten in the bottom of the first
with runners on first and second and
one out, but McKenzie Bedra lined
into a double play.
In the bottom of
the fifth and trailing 2-0, the
Guins loaded the bases with one out
but Morris was rescued by another
line-drive double play of the bat of
Kristin Bair.
The Guins host
Saint Francis (Pa.) in a
doubleheader, Wednesday, at 3 p.m.
in the final two home games of the
season. |
