Softball
Swept By Pittsburgh
Canfield, Ohio
-- Sophomore Kristina Rendle
went 3-for-5 on the day but the
Youngstown State softball team was
swept by Pittsburgh, 9-0, 7-1, on
Wednesday afternoon at McCune Park.
The Penguins fall
to 8-37 overall while Pittsburgh
improves to 23-22.
In the first
game, Rendle went 2-for-2 while
freshman Jordan Ingalls and senior
Allyse Ledford each tallied base
knocks for the Penguins.
In the nightcap,
sophomore Kim Klonowski went 2-for-3
and freshman Kristen Philen drove in
the Penguins' only run on a
fielder's choice in the bottom of
the sixth inning.
The Penguins
close out the regular season with a
three-game series against Green Bay,
May 2-3, at McCune Park. First pitch
on Saturday is slated for 1 p.m. |
