Carter Leads YSU in a Win Over Hillsdale,
123-113
Hillsdale, Mich. -- Freshman Erin
Carter won three events and earned
18 points for the YSU swimming and
diving team in a win over Hillsdale,
123-113. Carter swam a time of
2:18.97 in the 200-yard backstroke
and a time of 2:02.97 in the
200-yard freestyle.
Carter also placed first along with junior Molly
McAtee, freshman Jordan Dunn and
freshman Missy Wiese as part of the
winning 200-yard freestyle relay,
1:47.58.
In the diving events, senior Brandi Goettsch set a new
school record in the three-meter
event with a winning score of
323.40. Goettsch also placed
first in the one-meter event with a
score of 273.45.
Wiese took second-place in both the 50-yard freestyle,
26.49, and the 100-yard freestyle.
Senior Dawn Marie Knight recorded a
time of 2:43.07 to place second in
the 200-yard butterfly and freshman
Erin Hanson swam a time of 5:29 in
the 400-yard IM to place second as
well.
McAtee went home with two third-place finishes. She recorded
a time of 11:37.07 in the 1,000-yard
freestyle and a time of 5:38.45 in
the 500-yard freestyle
The YSU swimming and diving team will compete at the
Akron Invitational, Friday, November
30 through Sunday, December 2. |
