YSU Signs Wiese, Bak Member of Staff
Youngstown -- Youngstown State
Swimming Coach Jackie Bak announced
on Thursday that Missy Wiese of
Olmsted Falls, Ohio, (Olmsted Falls
High School) has signed a national
letter of intent to attend YSU.
Also, Bak has been invited to work
with the U.S. National Distance Team
in Colorado Springs.
Wiese holds seven school records and was a Northeast
Ohio District Qualifier as a senior.
Bak said: "We expect Missy to be a
major contributor. She is relatively
new to the sports and has already
achieved great things. She has a
great future ahead of her at YSU."
In other news, Bak is in Colorado Springs working with
the National Distance Team at their
Training Camp at the Olympic
Training Center. Bak along with
Auburn's Ralph Croker, Iowa's
Garland O'Keefe and Rick Shipherd of
the Industry Hills Aquatics in
Irvine, Calif., have all been
invited to assist National Team in
the next month.
The top men and women distance swimmers from all over
the United States have been invited
to Colorado Springs. Of these,
Maggie Bowen will be competing in
the World Championships this summer
in Fukuoka, Japan, and Kevin
Clements, John Cole, and James
Calloway who are going to the World
University Games in Beijing, China. |
