Carter Wins 400 Individual Medley to Highlight Day Three
    Chicago -- Junior Erin Carter won the 400-yard individual medley with a school-record time of 4 minutes, 33.82 in the third day of competition at the Horizon League Championship at the UIC Natatorium.
    Carter edged out UIC's Vanessa Segovia by eight-hundredths of a second to become YSU's first-ever Horizon League Champion in a swimming event.  She also shattered her own school record that she set on Feb. 8 by nearly eight seconds.
    Danielle Blagg also broke her own school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a ninth-place time of 1:09.46.
    Kalyn Leveto was the top scorer in the preliminary round of 3-meter diving with a tally of 443.95.
    The quartet of Carter, Jordan Dunn, Missy Wiese and Becky Bertuzzi finished sixth in the 800-yard freestyle relay to earn 26 points.
    Becky Bertuzzi finished 14th and Missy Wiese finished 16th in the 200-yard freestyle to earn three points and one point, respectively.  Kim Hanley and Amanda Howard claimed the 15th and 16th spots in the 100 breast.  Katy Malys added a 16th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
    The Penguins are in sixth place through three days of competition with a 188-154 lead over Butler.
