Penguins Fall to Akron in Spring Opener
Youngstown -- The Youngstown
State swimming and diving team was
defeated by the Akron Zips
193.50-106.50 in the
opener of the Penguins' spring
portion of the schedule.
Three Penguins picked up individual victories as Becky
Bertuzzi won the 200-yard freestyle
(2:02.11), Brittany Senn won the 50
free (25.51) and Kalyn Leveto won
1-meter diving (271.20). Senn added
a second-place finish in the 100
free (55.66) while Leveto placed
second in the 3-meter board
(236.02).
Jordan Dunn earned second-place finishes in the 200 free
(2:02.78) and the 500 free
(5:24.20). Also placing second for
the Penguins were Danielle Blagg in
the 100 breast (1:11.14), Erin
Carter in the 100 fly (1:02.23) and
Julia Darling in the 200 IM
(2:21.32).
The Penguins will continue their season Sunday when they
travel to take on St. Francis (Pa.)
at 1 p.m. |
