Leveto Finishes Fourth; Penguins In Sixth After Day Two

Senior diver Kalyn Leveto placed
fourth in the three-meter diving
event on the second day of
competition at the Horizon League
Women's Swimming and Diving
Championships on Thursday. YSU also
had two 10th-place finishes in
swimming events and fifth-place
finish in a relay to remain in sixth
place overall at the league meet.
UW-Green Bay leads after two days with 291 points. However,
Wright State and UW-Milwaukee, the
host school, are right behind at 278
and 276 points respectively. UIC is
in fourth with 202 points, Cleveland
State lies in fifth with 142 points,
YSU is sixth at 124 and Butler
rounds out the field in seventh with
76 total points.
Leveto posted a score of 385.80 in the three meters, an event
she won the past two years. UWM's
Erin Blemberg posted a school-record
score of 480.60. Leveto will compete
in the one-meter competition, which
concludes on Saturday.
Brittany Senn earned a 10th-place spot in the 50-yard
freestyle with a time of 24.88
seconds. Erin Carter finished 10th
in the 200-yard individual medley
with a time of 2:11.54.
The 400-yard individual medley team picked up a fifth-place
finish as well. Senn, Carter, Julia
Darling and Sarah Porchak finished
with a time of 4:03.12 to earn a
fifth-place finish.
The meet continues on Friday with the finals being held in
the 400-yard Individual Medley,
100-yard Butterfly, 200-yard
freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke,
100-yard backstroke and 800-yard
freestyle relay. |
