Reese, Arnold Win Twice Against Cleveland State, UIC
Cleveland, Ohio -- Freshman Kelly Reese
won both diving events while Olivia
Arnold swept the distance freestyle
events in a double-dual against
Cleveland State and UIC Saturday
afternoon.
Reese had personal-best scores in both events with a 254.80
in the 1-meter and 254.40 in the
3-meter. Arnold was the top overall
finisher in the 1,000 free
(10:45.58) and the 500 free
(5:18.42).
The Penguins fell 123-109 to UIC and 130-97 to Cleveland
State.
Jessica Front won the 200 free against UIC with a
personal-best time of 1:59.91, and
she teamed up with Erin Sayre, Julia
Darling and Becky Bertuzzi to lead
YSU's 400 medley relay to a win
against the Flames (4:20.44). The
400 free relay of Erin-Michelle
Gordon, Bertuzzi, Front and Brittany
Senn defeated Cleveland State
(3:46.79).
The meet closed out the regular season for the swimming team,
and the divers will compete at the
YSU Diving Invitational on Feb. 11.
The Horizon League Championship
begins Feb. 22 in Cleveland, Ohio. |
