Darling, Arnold Claim Victories at St. Francis (Pa.)
Loretto, Pa. -- Sophomore Julia Darling
won the 200-yard and freshman Olivia
Arnold won the 1,650 free as the
Youngstown State swimming and diving
team fell to St. Francis (Pa.)
133-63 on Saturday.
Darling swam a season-best time of 2:29.12 in the win while
Arnold turned in a first-place time
of 18:04.09.
Natasha Bray added a second-place time of 2:41.03 in the 200
breast, and Erin Sayre, Becky
Bertuzzi, Darling and Jessica Front
finished second in the 400 medley
relay (4:16.86). The 400 free relay
of Bertuzzi, Front, Erin-Michelle
Gordon and Brittany Senn also placed
second.
Arnold added third-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:20.62) and
the 500 free (5:23.48) while Bray
was third in the 200 fly (2:21.20).
Other third-place finishers included
Bertuzzi in the 200 free (2:03.51),
Senn in the 50 free (25.90) and Erin
Sayre in the 200 back (2:31.82).
The Penguins will return home to play host to Denison at the
Beeghly Natatorium on Saturday at 1
p.m. It will be the first home meet
since YSU took on Cleveland State on
Nov. 10, 2005. |
