Red Team Wins Annual Intersquad Meet, Three Seniors Tabbed Captains

Youngstown -- Youngstown State sophomore Olivia Arnold won three individual events to pace the red team to a 126-100 victory in the annual Red-Black Intersquad Meet on Friday afternoon.
The intersquad scrimmage was the first competitive meet on the short course for many of the swimmers since the Horizon League Championships in February.
Head Coach Matt Anderson also officially announced Becky Bertuzzi, Kim Hanley and Cortney Harless, the squad's only seniors, would serve as team captains for the second straight season.
Arnold, who was named the swimming MVP last season, posted victories in the 500 free, 1,000 free and the 200 breast to finish with 27 points for the red squad. Senn swam the top times in the 50 free and 200 fly and Reese swept the diving events to claim 18 points apiece.
Bertuzzi won the 200 free and 200 back to collect 18 points for the black squad. Freshman Megan Rupe won the 100 free and placed second in the 50 free and 200 free. Natasha Bray added a win in the 200 IM for the black team.
The Penguins will get their season underway on Oct. 13 at the Tom Stubbs Relays.
