Kelly Reese Named Horizon League Diver of the Week

-- Youngstown State sophomore Kelly
Reese has been named the Horizon
League Diver of the Week, the league
announced this morning.
Reese, a native of Canfield, Ohio, won the 1-meter board with
a score of 223.51 and finished
second in the 3-meter with a score
of 218.78 against Marshall on
Saturday. She then posted
season-best scores of 238.20 in the
1-meter and 232.70 in the 3-meter to
place second and third at the
Clarion Diving Invitational on
Saturday.
Reese was also named the Horizon League Diver of the Week
twice during her freshman season.
Freshman swimmer Megan Rupe was also mentioned as a notable
performer by the league. Rupe, a
native of New Philadelphia, Ohio,
won both sprint freestyle events and
anchored the winning 200 freestyle
relay against Marshall. She
out-touched Brittany Senn in the 50-
and 100-free to chalk up 18
individual points. Her time of 25.28
in the 50 free ranks her sixth in
YSU history and the 55.06 finish in
the 100 free ranks her eighth.
The Penguins will open up the home portion of their schedule
on Friday against Butler at 5 p.m. |
