Arnold, Carpin Named MVPs at Postseason Banquet

    Youngstown -- Olivia Arnold and Amanda Carpin were honored as Youngstown State's swimming and diving most valuable players as the Penguins held their annual awards banquet on Sunday at the DeBartolo Stadium Club.
    Arnold, a junior distance freestyle specialist from Rutherglen, Australia, was voted by her teammates as the swimming MVP. Carpin, a freshman diver from Erie, Pa., was voted the diving MVP. Release

Senn Closes Out Career in Record-Setting 400 Free Relay

    Akron, Ohio -- Senior Brittany Senn helped break a 25-year-old school record in her final collegiate event to cap off a superior effort for Youngstown State at the 2008 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships.
    Senn swam the third leg of the record-breaking 400-yard freestyle relay that posted a third-place time of 3:31.73. Release | Results

Williamson Breaks Two Records, Places Second in 100 Fly

    Akron, Ohio -- Freshman Ashley Williamson finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a school-record time of 57.42 on day three of the Horizon League Championships.
    Williamson's time eclipsed Janet Kemper's previous record that was set in 1985 by .01 seconds. She also beat her own record in the 100 back that she set a day earlier with a fifth-place time of 58.53. Release | Results

    Cleveland -- Junior Olivia Arnold broke her own school record in the 1,000 freestyle and two Youngstown State relays also eclipsed school marks in the first day of the 2008 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday.
    Arnold posted a time of 10:33.14 to finish eighth and beat her old record by five seconds. Release | Results
