Women's Tennis
Takes 6th Place in HL Championships
Indianapolis, Ind.-- The
Youngstown State women's tennis team
wrapped up the of weekend of
championship tennis with the 4-1
loss to UW-Milwaukee on Sunday
morning. With the win, UW-Milwaukee
claims fifth place while YSU
finishes sixth. The UIC Flames
women's team won first place for the
11th straight year.
Gina Peretti won the only match for the Penguins in the No. 1
spot. Peretti defeated
Kelly Drvaric, 6-4, 6-3. Injuries
caused YSU to default at the No. 5
and 6 singles spots as well as No. 3
doubles. Tanisha Welch and Irena did
not finish their matches. The
Panthers only win at singles was Ali
O'Neal's 6-4,6-2 win over Kelly
Culbertson in the No. 3 spot.
The women's tennis team concludes the spring season with the
final record of 4-16.
