Women's Tennis
Suffers 7-0 Loss to Eastern Michigan
Ypsilanti, Mich.-- The
Youngstown State women's tennis team
traveled to Ypsilanti Michigan to
face Eastern Michigan on Monday
morning at the Chippewa Club. The
Eagles swept the doubles and the
singles matches in the
non-conference loss.
Michelle Fuleky
played at No. 1 singles
dropping her match to
Vanessa Frankowski, 6-1,
6-1. Aditi Krishman beat Gina Peretti 6-2,
6-0 in the No. 2 spot.
Emily Thayer
lost to
Yana Parfenyuk,
6-1, 6-1. Tanisha Welch lost her
first set 0-6 and then came back in
the second set to win 6-3. Welch
finally lost in the tie-breaker
match 10-6. Kelly Culbertson played
at No. 5 singles against
Emma Czarnecki
losing the match by a
score of
7-6, 6-4. No. 6 Irean Lanc
lost to Joanna Woo, 6-0, 7-5
At No
1
doubles, Frankowski and Parfenyuk
beat Thayer and Fuleky , 8-1. No. 2 Bestehorn
and Krishman beat
Welch and Culbertson, 8-5 while No.
3 Laura Fernandez and Flavia Micati
knocked off Lanc and Peretti, 8-2
The women's' tennis team will play
again on Saturday as they travel to
Wisconsin to face
Horizon League opponent UW-Milwaukee
at 1 p.m. |
