Milwaukee, Wis..-- The Youngstown State women's tennis team lost a close match to Horizon League opponent UW-Milwaukee on Saturday morning at North Shore Elite Tennis Complex. The Penguins won three of the singles matches and at No. 1 doubles against the Panthers but unfortunately lost crucial points due to an injury.

Michelle Fuleky and Gina Peretti came out strong at No. 1 doubles beating  Kelly Drvaric and Kari Kastenholtz, 8-1 while Tanisha Welch and Kelly Culbertson lost at the No. 2 spot. Milwaukee ultimately picked up the doubles point due to YSU defaulting the No. 3 spot.
At  No 2 singles, Peretti also won her match 6-3, 6-4 against Kastenholtz.  Welch picked up her 6-0, 6-2 win over Traci Litscher. Irena Lanc  won her match over Lauren Fenley at the No. 5 spot. Milwaukee only won the No. 1 and 4 spots, but picked up the default point at No. 6 singles to give the team the 4-3 advantage over YSU.

The Guins will be set for more league action tomorrow morning as they face UW-Green Bay at 10 a.m.
