Tennis Downs Chargers in Second
Match of Spring Break Trip

The Youngstown State men's tennis team continued
spring break play with a win
defeating Colby-Sawyer College 7-0
on Monday evening at the Lake Sylvan
Tennis Center. Freshmen Maurice Rucker
and Chris Leson also started in the
No. 5 and 6 spots both picking up
their first college wins of the
spring season.
Rucker's 6-1, 6-1 win
came in the No. 5 spot while Leson
beat Trevor Davis 6-0, 6-0 at No.6.
"Our freshmen played excellent tonight and show great
potential for the future," said Head
Coach Eric Ronan.
In other singles action, No. 1 Tom Barth beat Dan
Dabush 6-1, 6-2. Diego
Cerzosimo played at No. 2 singles
for the first time this season
defeating Brendan O'Neil 6-1, 7-6
(1). Brian Meek's win came over Dan Munsey, 6-2, 6-2 and No. 4 Ryan
Trapp beat Justin Tardif 6-3, 6-0.
The
men's tennis team will be back in
action tomorrow to take on Fairfield
University. Match time is set for
11:30 a.m. |
