Men's Tennis
Picks Up Doubles Point in 6-1 Loss
to UW-Green Bay
Michigan City, Ind.--
The Youngstown State men's tennis
team faced league opponent UW-Green
Bay on Sunday morning at a neutral
site. The Penguins picked up the
early point by winning two of the
three doubles matches. The Phoenix
went on to sweep the singles
competition and win the match 6-1.
Brian Meek and Diego Cerzosimo teamed up at
doubles to pick their seventh win of
the season. The duo defeated Matt Keesey and Matt Clegg 8-5 at the No.
2 spot. No. 3 Jason and Ryan
Trapp were also victories at doubles
winning 8-5 over Scott Dickert and
Eric Hines. The
Penguins entered singles play with
the lead, but could not stop
UW-Green Bay in any of the matches.
The men's tennis team will return
home to host league opponents UIC on
Saturday at Noon and then Butler on
Sunday before wrapping up the
regular season. |
