Tennis Out Dueled by Dayton, 6-1

The
Youngstown State men's tennis team
dropped a match to the University of
Dayton, 6-1, on Friday evening at
the Dayton Tennis Center.
Senior Scott Kathary picked up his
second win at No. 1 singles for the
season beating Michael Rohana 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-5) in
a close match. Kathary also teamed
up with Ryan Trapp at No. 1 doubles
to beat David Peyton and Rohana, 8-6.
The Flyers went on to claim the
doubles point by winning 8-2 and 8-4
in the No. 2 and 3 spots.
Trapp also put up a tough battle in
the No. 2 singles spot falling 3-6,
7-6 (7-1), 10-5 in three
sets. Dayton went on to claim wins
at the rest of the singles matches
and claim the 6-1 win.
The men's tennis team be back in
action on March 1 at 7 p.m. against
Xavier University. |
