Men's Tennis
Opens HL Tournament with 5-0 Loss to
UIC
Indianapolis, Ind.--The
No. 7 seed Youngstown State men's
tennis team faced the No. 2 seed UIC
in the first-round of the Horizon
League Tournament on Saturday
morning. Seniors Scott Kathary and
Ryan Trapp won their No. 1 doubles
match 8-5 before the Flames claimed
four singles matches and the 5-0
victory.
Diego Cerzosimo and Chris Leson fell
at No. 2 doubles 8-1 and Maurice
Rucker and Zach Landgraf lost 8-5 in
the third spot.
In singles action, Kathary fell 7-5,
6-0 to Adriano Liccardo 7-5, 6-0.
Cerzosimo lost to Sebastian Lystad
6-4, 6-0. Leson dropped his match
6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 spot and
Ladgraf lost to Sean Kreymborg 6-0,
6-0 at No. 6. Trapp and Rucker
did not finish their matches.
The Penguins will continue Horizon
League tournament today at 1 p.m.
against the No. 6 seed Valparaiso.
