Men's
Tennis Drops Hard Fought Battle to
IUPUI, 6-1
Indianapolis --
The
men's tennis team picked up a win at
singles and doubles, but could not
stop the Jaguars in crucial
tie-breaker sets. IUPUI claimed the
doubles point and five of the six
singles matches in the 6-1 win on
Saturday evening.
Junior Diego Cerzosimo won his
second match of the season by
beating IUPUI's E.J. Dechow, 6-2,
6-3, in the No. 3 spot.
Maurice Rucker and Chris Leson both
lost the first set tie-breaker,
while Scott Kathary lost his second
set tie-breaker.
Kathary also teamed-up with Ryan
Trapp at No. 1 doubles to drop a
close match, 9-8 (7-4), to Gabriel
Garcia and Gregory Sosa. Maurice
Rucker and Zach Langraf won their
match 8-5 while Cerzosimo and Leson
lost 8-3 at No. 2.
The men's tennis team will play
again on February 29 at the
University of Dayton. Match time is
set for 4 p.m. |
