Tennis Wraps
Up Fall Season
at Valparaiso Invitational
Valparaiso, Ind. -- The men's
tennis team traveled to Valparaiso,
Indiana to compete in the last
invitational of the fall season.
Other teams included IPFW, Toledo
and Horizon League opponents Green
Bay and UIC. No team scores were
kept in the weekend long event.
Scott Kathary and Diego Cerzosimo
played in the singles flight A.
Kathary defeated Adriano
Liccardo from UIC, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4,
in the first round. Kathary then
lost to Toledo's Chris Clark.
Cerzosim dropped his first match
then beat Nabil Mourad Filho from
IPFW 6-4, 6-2 in the consolation
round.
Ryan Trapp played in the Singles B
flight match. Trapp lost his opening
match and then came back to win in
two more rounds before dropping the
fourth match
6-1, 6-3.
Trapp and Kathary teamed up at
doubles flight A to claim 5th place.
Cerzosimo and Leson also finished
5th place in flight B doubles.
The fall season will conclude at the
ITA Midwest Regional Championships
on October 17-19.
