Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision to Valpo
Valparaiso,
Ind.

The
Youngstown State men's tennis team
continued Horizon League play against
Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon at
the Courts of Northwest Indiana. The
Crusaders swept the doubles point
and picked up four wins at singles
to claim the 5-2 win. Senior Scott Kathary
added to his weekend success by
winning 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot.
Junior Diego Cerzosimo picked the
Penguins other point with his 6-3,
6-0 win in the No. 3 spot. Ryan
Trapp and Chris Leson both extended
their singles matches to three
hard-fought sets. Trapp won
his first set 6-4, then lost 6-3,
6-2. Leson fell 6-1 in the first
set, but came back 6-3 in the second
before losing 7-5 in the third set
tie-breaker.
The men's tennis team will travel to
Indianapolis to face league foe
Butler on Saturday. Match time is
set for 2 p.m.
