Buffalo Sweeps Women's Tennis in Final Spring Break Match

    Stuart, Fla.- The women's tennis concluded its spring break matches on Wednesday morning with the 7-0 loss to the University at Buffalo.

     The Penguins lost all three doubles matches. Anna Volkova and Tanisha Welch fell 8-2. Kelly Culbertson and Emily Thayer lost by the same score in the No. 2 spot and Irena Lanc and Hannah Patten dropped their match 8-5.

    At singles, Volkova and Culbertson each battled for the tie-breakers in the second set of their matches. Volkova lost 6-0, 7-6 (4) at No. 1 while Culbertson lost 6-3, 7-6 (1) in the No. 5 spot.

    The Penguins will return home to the Boardman Tennis Center to face Pittsburgh on Wednesday at Noon.
