Women's Tennis
Loses to Cincinnati, 7-0
Cincinnati,
Ohio - The women's tennis team
lost a non-conference match to the
the University of Cincinnati, 7-0,
on Friday evening at the Queen City
Racquet Club.
The Bearcats
took the early lead by winning 8-6
and 8-1 at No. 1 and 2 doubles. The
Penguins had to default the No. 3
spot due to injury.
In singles
action, YSU dropped three matches in
straight sets and defaulted in the
No. 6 spot. Anna Volkova lost the
tiebreaker to Alizee Paradis,
7-6 (7-2), 6-4,
while Tanisha Welch extended her
match to three sets in the No. 2
spot falling
2-6, 6-2, 7-6
(13-11).
The
Penguins will return home to the
Boardman Tennis Center on Friday to
host Akron. Match time is set for 6
p.m. |
