Ismail, Emig's
Wins at Singles Not Enough in YSU's
5-2 Loss to Dayton
Boardman, Ohio-- The men's tennis team picked up wins
at No. 2 and 5 singles, but losing
the doubles point proved costly as
the Penguins dropped a 5-2 decision
to the University of Dayton on
Friday evening at the Boardman
Tennis Center.
Steve D'Angelo and Robert Emig won
their doubles match 8-1 in the three
spot, but the Guins could not secure
the point as Dayton won the No. 1
and 2 matches. Both matches were won
by a score of 8-5.
Emig and Tariq Ismail picked up
YSU's two points with their wins at
singles. Ismail's win came over Matt
Sherman in the No. 2 spot by winning
in the third set 6-1, 2-6, 6-2. Emig
defeated Mike Koscielski 7-6 (4),
6-4.
Dayton won at No. 1, 3,4 and 6
singles to give the team the 5-2 win
over the Guins.

Sunday against Horizon League
opponent Cleveland State. Match time
