Picks Up Second Straight Win with
4-3 Victory over Denison
Granville,
Ohio -- The men's tennis team claimed four
wins at singles to get past Denison
University, 4-3 on Saturday
afternoon. The win marks the second
straight for the team and improves
the Penguins overall record to 3-4
for the season.
Despite giving up the early doubles
point, the Guins rallied at singles
to earn wins at the No. 1, 2, 3 and
four spots.
Michael Kathary won his match in the
No. 1 spot over Jordan Beuhler, 6-4,
7-5. Tariq Ismail and Patrick
Hamning both won their matches in
the the third set tie-breakers.
Ismail's win came over James Davis
by a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 while
Hamning pulled out his win by
defeating Nate Hobrath 4-6, 6-2,
6-2. Robert Emig's won in the No. 5
spot by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
The men will play again on Sunday at IPFW. Match time is set for 8
a.m.
