Wraps-Up Spring Break Trip with 7-2
Victory Over UW-Oshkosh
Oshkosh, Wis. -- The men's tennis team picked up its
fifth win of the season with the 7-2
win over UW-Oshkosh in the final
match of the spring break trip on
Wednesday evening at the YMCA Tennis
Center. Scores were kept according
to Division III format as the
Penguins won five singles matches
and at No. 2 and 3 doubles to earn
seven points.
The Penguins won five singles
matches in straight sets. Tariq
Ismail played at No. 1 singles
beating James Lewison 6-3, 6-4.
Michael Kathary played at No. 2
winning his match, 6-2, 6-3. Patrick
Hamning picked up his won over Brian
Naidicz, 6-4, 6-3. Steve D'Angelo
got past Nate Kilsonk, 6-0, 7-6
while Robert Emig won his match in
convincing fashion over Dustin
Blackburn, 6-1, 6-1.
At doubles, Hamning and Kathary also
won at No. 2 by a score of 8-5 and
D'Angelo and Emig pulled out the 9-7
win in the third spot.
The men's team will return home
March 21 to host Toledo at 6 p.m. at
the Boardman Tennis Center. |
