Leson Picks Up
Point for Men's Tennis in 6-1
Loss to Toledo
Boardman --
The
men's tennis team hosted the
University of Toledo on Saturday
evening at the Boardman Tennis
Center. The Rockets won the doubles
point and five singles matches to
pick up the 6-1 victory and the 12th
win of the season. Junior Chris
Leson won YSU's point with his
victory that was extended to three
sets.
Leson played Jayson Miller in the
No. 6 spot losing 0-6 in the first
set but came back to win 7-5 in the
second and 7-6 (5) in the third.
Toledo won the rest of the singles
matches in straight sets.
At doubles, Leson and Ismail teamed
up at No. 1 losing 8-4. Patrick
Hamning and Michael Kathary fell in
the second set by the same score
while Robert Emig and Steve D'Angelo
dropped their match 8-1.
The men's
tennis team will be back in action
April 5 as it takes on Wright State
in the first of four Horizon League
matches. First serve will begin at 2
p.m. |
