Women's Tennis Downs IUPUI, 7-0

   Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Youngstown State women's tennis picked up its second 7-0 win of the season on Friday evening by sweeping IUPUI in singles and doubles. The Penguins now improve to an overall record of 3-4.

   Juniors Anna Volkova and Nicole Haralambopoulos paired up at No. 1 doubles to earn the 8-7 (7-2)  win over IUPUI's Vanessa Carna and Emily Holsapple. Tanisha Welch and Lauren Hankle knocked-off Karlee Rush and Sondra Caputo, 8-0. The Jaguars were forced to default the No. 3 spot due to a shortage of players.

    The Penguins won three singles matches by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Volkova, Welch and Gretchen Cloern all swept their matches in the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots. Sarah Lynch also won her match in the No. 1 spot by a score of 6-2, 6-4 and Hankle won her match at No. 2, 6-2, 6-1. IUPUI also had to defautl at No. 6 singles.

    The Penguins will return home on Friday to play Cincinnati  at 6 p.m.
