Women's Tennis
Claims Third Sweep of the Season
with Win over St. Bonaventure
Boardman,
Ohio -- The women's tennis team
beat St. Bonaventure to pick up its
third 7-0 win of the season and its
fourth win overall on Sunday morning
at the Boardman Tennis Center. YSU
won four singles rounds in straight
sets while St. Bonaventure defaulted
the No. 5 and 6 spots.
Sarah Lynch
beat Maria Barous 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1.
Lauren Hankle defeated Vanessa
Rumpel 6-2, 6-3 while Tanisha Welch
picked up a 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. Irena
Lanc knocked-off Eileen Horgan, 6-0,
6-1. YSU won points at the 5 and 6
spots due to IPFW's lack of players.
YSU also won
at No. 1 and 2 doubles. Welch and
Hankle won 8-2 at No. 1 and Cloern
and Lynch picked up the 8-1 win in
the second slot. IPFW also defaulted
at No. 3.
The women's
tennis team will play next on
Saturday at Akron. Match time is set
for 2 p.m.
