Women's Tennis Drops Match to Toledo, 6-1

   Boardman -- The Youngstown State women's tennis team hosted Toledo on Sunday morning at the Boardman Center dropping the match 6-1. Tanisha Welch picked up YSU's only point defeating Nadia Zoubareva, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.

    Welch joined Gretchen Cloern at No. 3 doubles dropping a close match to Melissa Reynolds and Jenny Belsky, 8-6. Toledo won at No. 1 singles by a score of 8-3 and No. 2 singles 8-1.

    Toledo went on to claim five wins at singles and the 6-1 victory. Jessica Lynch fell 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot. Lauren Hankle dropped her match 6-2, 6-1. Anna Volkova lost 6-3, 6-4 and Irena Lanc fell 6-2, 4-6 (4).

    The women's tennis team will next travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to play Western Michigan at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening.
