Bolt, Gillespie Set School Marks at Bowling Green
    Bowling Green, Ohio -- Sophomore Danielle Bolt and senior Aaliyah Gillespie each set school records to highlight the first competition of the spring semester for Youngstown State's track and field team on Friday evening at Bowling Green's Perry Fieldhouse.
    Bolt broke her own record in the the 60-meter dash with a winning time of 7.57 seconds while Gillespie also broke her own mark in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles with a time 8.71. Gillespie finished second by .01 seconds in the finals with a time of 8.77.
    The Penguins finished fourth in the meet with 153 points behind Cincinnati (253), Bowling Green (224.50) and Toledo (160.50). IPFW came in fifth with 59 points.
    Bolt also had a strong showing in the 200 with a second-place time of 25.37. Jeanna Cunningham added third-place finishes in the 60 (7.86) and the 200 (25.60) while Emily Wollet placed fourth in the 400 in 1:00.90.
    In the middle distance, Yandeh Joh placed second in the 600 with a time off 1:39.97 and Marielle Glanz placed third in the 800 in 2:19.24.
    Carly Youlton led the jumpers with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.17 meters and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.48m. Yoh finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.53m.
    Freshman Bethany Anderson barely missed breaking the school record in the shot put with a third-place mark of 13.37m and added a fifth-place heave of 14.70m in the weight throw. Katy Williams placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 15.74m while Lindsey Hill added a fifth-place throw of 12.75m in the shot put.
    The YSU men's team will compete at Robert Morris on Sunday. Both teams will be in action on Feb. 5 at the Akron Invitational.
