Darcelle Formby Named Horizon
League Athlete of the Week
Indianapolis -- Youngstown State freshman Darcelle
Formby (Cleveland, Ohio) has been
named the Horizon League Women's
Track and Field Athlete of the Week,
the league office announced Tuesday.
Formby earned two individual wins at Robert Morris last
weekend to lead the women's squad to
the overall victory.
She won the long jump in her first time
competing in the event at the
collegiate level with a mark of
5.51m. That mark also moved her into
fifth on YSU's all-time list and
ranks her first in the Horizon
League in the event. She added a
first-place time of 26.40 in the
200m.
Formby is the first YSU female track and field athlete to
earn the league's weekly honor this
season. Jarrod Davis was named the
Men's Athlete of the Week on Dec.
