Penguins Win Seven Events at Baldwin-Wallace Mid-January Meet

    Berea, Ohio -- Freshman Jerrill Hall won two events to pace seven victories in eight events by Youngstown State student-athletes at the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-January Meet on Friday evening.
    Hall set personal-best marks to win the 55-meter hurdles and the high jump. His time of 7.95 in the hurdles ranks third in YSU history, and his cleared height of 6-4 in the high jump puts him fourth all-time.
    Johnny Copley cleared a collegiate-best height of 14-9 1/2 in the pole vault to also rank fourth in school history. Dom DeFilippo added a win in the weight throw (49-8 1/4), and Jeremiah Folger's third-place throw of 45-5 1/4 in the weight ranks him 10th all-time.
    Pallini added a personal-best throw of 51-0 1/4 in the shot put to finish second, which ranks him fourth in school history.
    On the women's side, Danielle Curry won the shot put with a personal-best mark of 44-7 1/2. Stephanie Jarvis won the pole vault (10-1 1/2), and Alexis Hall won the weight throw to pace three Penguins in the top three.
    The Penguins will compete at the Akron Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
