Michaelis Breaks School Record at Cardinal Invite
Stanford, Calif. -- Youngstown
State senior Kurt Michaelis broke
his own school record in the
1,500-meter run with a time of 3
minutes, 47.03
seconds at the Cardinal
Invitational.
His time topped his previous best by .14 seconds and was good
enough to qualify for the NCAA
Regionals in the event.
Meanwhile, Jarrod Davis threw a personal-best 165 feet, 6
inches in the javelin to place sixth
at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio
State.
Assistant coach Matt Folk also competed at the
Cardinal Invite. He finished
15th in the 10,000-meters with a
personal-best time of
29:13.62.
The rest of the YSU squad will compete at the Baldwin-Wallace
Invite on Sunday. |
