Michaelis Sets Steeplechase Record at Penn Relays
Philadelphia -- Youngstown State
senior Kurt Michaelis shattered his
own school record in the 3,000-meter
steeplechase with a fifth-place time
of 8 minutes, 53.16 seconds at the
Penn Relays Thursday evening.
His previous record of 8:57.95 was set at the 2003 Penn
Relays.
According to Head Coach Brian Gorby, Michaelis' time ranks
among the top 10 recorded this
season in the nation.
Also at the Relays, Emily Schnitkey finished 23rd in the
5,000-meter run championship in a
season-best time of 17:21.76 while
Lisa Davies placed 38th in 18:36.11. |
