Hammer Record, Kreutzfeld Paces
Sprints at All-Ohio

Youngstown State's Bethany Anderson
shattered her school record in the
hammer and Kari Kreutzfeld earned
four top-10 finishes at the All-Ohio
Championships over the weekend.
Anderson posted a mark of 187'1" to top her previous record
by more than nine feet. The distance
also ranks her 10th in the Mideast
Region and 39th nationally among
Division I throwers.
Kreutzfeld posted personal-best times in the 400m (56.52) and
200m (25.41) dashes to finish fourth
and ninth, respectively. She also
anchored YSU's third-place 4x400m
relay and ran the second leg in the
4x100m relay that placed seventh.
Kreutzfeld now ranks fifth in YSU
history in the 400m and eighth in
the 200m.
Aaliyah Gillespie added a fourth-place time of 14.59 in the
100m hurdles, and Darcelle Formby
posted a 10th-place time of 25.43 in
the 200m.
In addition to Anderson's third-place finish, Lindsay Cobey
finished seventh in the hammer with
a personal-best mark of 160'10" that
ranks her second in school history.
Amy Hill placed eighth in the hammer
(157'11") and seventh in the discus
(130'8"), while Jacquline Clonch was
sixth in the discus (134'10").
Lindsey Hill added a seventh-place
finish in the javelin with a mark of
106'7".
Scott Streiner was the top finisher in the men's sprints with
a 15th-place time of 22.25 in the
200m while Eric Baltputnis was 18th
in the 100m (11.35). J.D. Sheppard
placed 16th in the 800m, and Justin
Dickman was 16th in the 5,000m
(15:49.77).
In the field events, Shayne York finished eighth in the long
jump (21'6.75") and Michael Perri
was 12th in the high jump (6'0.75").
Dominic DeFilippo finished 15th in
the hammer (157'6") and 16th in the
shot put (41'8"), and Drew Weizer
placed 17th in the hammer (148'7").
The Penguins will compete at the Hillsdale Relays this
weekend. |
