Anderson Earns
Horizon League Scholar-Athlete
Honors
Indianapolis --
Youngstown State junior Bethany
Anderson has been named the female
U.S. Army Horizon League
Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the
league announced Wednesday.
Anderson concluded her memorable junior year last weekend at
the NCAA Mideast Regional where she
finished eighth in the hammer with a
school-record throw of 188 feet, 11
inches. Her finish was the highest
ever for a YSU student-athlete at
the regional and was just three
places shy of earning an automatic
invitational to the national
championship meet.
Earlier this year, Anderson was named YSU's female Vindicator
Student-Athlete of the year. She won
two events at both the Horizon
League indoor and outdoor
championships, and she was voted the
Horizon League Female Athlete of the
Year during the indoor season.
In the classroom, Anderson boasts a 3.35 grade-point average
as a health/pre-med major. She is a
three-time
Academic All-League honoree. |
